The Names of Fire
He was born in Barcelona in 1977, but moved to Madrid soon afterwards. He was nineteen when his first novel, In(h)armonicos, was published. It won the Premio Joven y Brillante and that same year he founded his own theatrical company, Armando no me llama (Armando Doesn't Call Me) which would perform his first texts. He has a doctorate in Philology and currently combines teaching with his work as a novelist and playwright. He was a finalist for the 2010 Premio Nadal, with La edad de la ira (The Age of Rage). Among his books are Las vidas que inventamos (The Lives We Invent) and La inmortalidad del cangrejo (The Immortality of the Crab) and YA novels that have been very popular among adolescents, such as El reino de las Tres Lunas (The Kingdom of Three Moons) and Los nombres del fuego (The Names of Fire). As a playwright he has had numerous works performed and published, both in Spain and in other countries.
