The Reason for Evil
Rafael Argullol has written more than thirty books, including novels, essays and poetry collections. He has also collaborated on various projects for theatre and cinema and taught in European and North American universities. He is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines, frequently combining his interest in travel with his literary interests. He was awarded the Premio Nadal in 1993 for La razón del mal (The Reason for Evil), and the Casa de América Essay Prize in 2002 for Una education sensorial (A Sensory Education), the Cálamo and Ciutat de Barcelona prizes, in 2010, for Visión desde el fondo del mar (The View from the Bottom of the Sea) and the Observatorio Achtall Essay prize in 2015. All his books are published by Acantilado.
