Sofía Rhei, Madrid (1978): writer, experimental poet and translator. Author of the children's fantasy series 'Krippys' (Montena)and 'El joven Moriarty' ('The Young Moriarty') (Nevsky Prospects); of the childrens' stories 'Olivia Shakespeare' (Edelvives) and 'Los hermanos Mozart' ('The Mozart Siblings') and 'El reino secreto' ('The Secret Kingdom') (Diquesi), of the YA novels 'Flores de Sombra' ('Shadow Flowers') (Alfaguara) and its sequel 'Savia Negra' ('Black Sap'), 'La calle Andersen' ('Andersen Street'), co-written with Marian Womack (La Galera), and various anthologies of legends for young readers. Sofía likes to draw pictures of her characters before writing about them. She has published more than thirty books, mostly for children and teenagers. She gives talks, workshops and animation sessions at primary and secondary schools. She won the IV Premio Zaidín de poesía Javier Egea.
