The Constitution: A Model Kit
José Juan Moreso was born in Spain. He took a Law Degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1983 and a Doctorate in Law from the same University in 1988. He has taught at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1988-1995), Universitat de Girona (1996-2000) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona (2000-2005). Now he is Rector of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
José Juan Moreso has fundamentally worked in legal theory, with special attention to the structure and the dynamics of legal systems, using the contributions of deontic logic. Now he is working in the philosophical foundations of the constitution, in a broad area where metaethics, philosophy of language, theory of legal interpretation and argumentation, political philosophy and democratic theory all coincide.
He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Buenos Aires, University of Oxford and University of Genoa and a Visiting Professor in some European Universities. He has also directed a large number of doctoral theses. Dr. Moreso has published a large quantity of books, among them Legal Indeterminacy and Constitutional Interpretation, and several articles in prestigious and specialized journals.
