Habermas: Language, Reason and Truth
Pere Fabra i Abat (Valls, Tarragona, 1958) holds degrees in Philosophy and in Law from the University of Barcelona, and a doctorate in Law from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. After practising as a lawyer for several years, he was a researcher at the J. W. Goethe University in Frankfurt (Germany), a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Philosophy at Northwestern University (Chicago) and an Associate Professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He has been Director of the Department of Law and Political Science at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, where he is presently a teacher of Philosophy of Law and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. He has translated several works by Jürgen Habermas into Spanish and Catalan, and his main areas of research centre on critical theory, philosophy of language, epistemology, and philosophy of law.
Goethe Foundation Award in 2003 for the best translation for Verdad y justificación, by Jürgen Habermas (Wahrheit und Rechtfertigung).
