Fernando San Basilio studied Hispanic Philology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Journalism at te El País School of Journalism. In 2006, he published Curso de Librería (Bookseller's Course) with the Caballo de Troya ("a clever, entertaining book, with humour and misunderstanding as the master of ceremonies" Babelia), and in 2010, his second novel, entitled Mi gran novela sobre La Vaguade (My Great Novel on La Vaguada) with the same publishing house ("San Basilio is a master of understatement, in that jokes co-exist with bitterness, without making the latter easier to digest", Carlos Pardo, Público). In 2012, Impedimenta published his final book in the trilogy: El joven vendedor y el estilo de vida fluida (The Young Salesman and Fluid Lifestyle), "A unique novel that uses elements of reality to form a new type of costumbrismo."
