Soon We Will Be Happy
Ignacio Vidal-Folch is a writer and journalist. He is the author of the collections of short stories Amigos que no he vuelto a ver (Friends I've Lost Touch With, Anagrama, 1987), Más lejos y más abajo (Further and Lower, 1999, Premio NH for best collection of short stories) and Noche sobre Noche (Night on Night, Destino, 2009). As a novelist, he has published No se lo digas a nadie (Don't Tell Anyone, Anagrama, 1987), La libertad (Freedom, Anagrama, 1996), La cabeza de plástico (The Plastic Head, Anagrama, 1999), Turistas del ideal (Idealism Tourists, Destino, 2005) y Contramundo (Against the World, Destino, 2006). As a sharply observant, rigorous writer of chronicles, he has written the collection Barcelona: Museo secreto (Barcelona: The Secret Museum, Actar, 2009) and Lo que cuenta es la ilusión (It's the Illusion That Counts, Destino, 2012) which consists of thousands of comments taken from his personal diary, showing a humorous, melancholy gaze. His latest work is Pronto seremos felices (Soon We Will Be Happy, Destino, October 2014).
