While the Bats Sleep
(1929-2012). A writer, singer, film maker… artist. As a descendant of the Swedish royal family and heir to a long dynasty of clowns, he received a cosmopolitan education, interrupted by many voyages, was present during the Spanish Civil War, the Cuban Revolution and later lived as an exile in the United States (where he undertook a legendary tour with Buster Keaton, appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, shared the set with Harpo Marx and worked for Richard Nixon and vicepresident Hubert). As a pioneer in television, Miliki has been a part of all our lives and, for generations, we have been his pupils and almost his grandchildren; his song is "Happy, happy, in your day". As a man of letters, he published various works of children's literature, and in 1996 brought out his autobiography, Recuerdos (Memories). In 2008 he published his first novel, La providencia (Providence), followed by Mientras duermen los murciélagos, 30 Cuentos y Medio (30 Stories and a Half) is his posthumous work.
