José María Conget (Zaragoza, 1948) studied Philosophy and Literature. He has worked in education and cultural management in various places in Spain, Scotland, Peru, England, United States and France. He currently lives in Seville. He has published the books quadrupedumque (1981), Comentarios (marginales) a la guerra de las Galias (1984), Gaudeamus (1986), Todas las mujeres (1989; Estado Crítico Prize following a second edition in 2009), and with this publishing house: Palabras de familia (1995) y Hasta el fin de los cuentos (1998), the collections of short stories Bar de anarquistas (2005, Cálamo Prize), La ciudad desplazada (2010), el volumen sobre ciudades Pont de l’Alma (2007) and his latest collection La mujer que vigila los Vermeer (2013). He received the Aragonese Literature Prize in 2007 for his body of work.
