David L. Bowman

The author-character of this novel teaches Spanish Literature at the UK's prestigious Cahill University, and is the author of important studies of Cervantes' Spanish as well as editor of various Spanish Golden Age classics. Venganza sin honra, by Sebastián de Velayos; En casa ajena, by the mesoamerican Jesús de Santa María, also known as Suré Rahui, his indigenous name; or Soledad tengo de ti and El amor de los amores, by the lay sister Sor Verónica de Sotosalbos, a distinguished mystical figure comparable to Teresa de Jesús or Juan de la Cruz about whom Professor Bowman's studies have continued to reveal information. A few years ago, during holidays on the island of Ibiza, David Bowman met and talked to a certain gentleman who made incredible intimate confessions to him. Captivated by his story, Bowman has turned these confessions into a novel.
