Per Abbat (fl. 1207) is the author of the 1207 copy of the Cantar de mio Cid. The name Per(o) Ab(b)at (Pedro Abad) was very common at that time, which makes it very difficult to ffind detaails the author. In 1983, Colin Smith claimed that Per Abbat was the author of the Song (as did Antonio Ubieto Arteta in 1957).
