Antonio Antón

Antonio Antón studied Sociology and Political Science at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia and has a Doctorate in Sociology from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He is honorary Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a member of the Investigative Committee on Industrial Sociology of the Spanish Federation of Sociology. An expert in labour relations, he was director of the Confederate Council of the trade union CCOO (1996-2004); co-ordinator of its Department of Studies in Madrid (2000-2004); board member of the Trade Union Study Foundation (2000-2009), and of the First of May Foundation’s Social Education Centre (2009). Expert in industrial health and specialist in ergonomics and applied psycho-sociology. Member of the Economic and Social Council (CES) of the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid – CAM – (2000-2002).
