Mimi and the blue giraffe (my little brother is disabled)
Cécile de Visscher was born in Belgium where she studied Educational Sciences. In 1978 she moved to Barcelona and finished a degree in Psychology. In 1991 she created Fundación Nexe, one of the few institutions exclusively dedicated to babies and children with multiple disabilities and their families. She is currently head of the foundation, an outstanding institution in Spain and Europe for the quality of its unique pioneering services. As an expert and teacher she has taken part in several European projects, the fruits of which are the following publications: “El manifiesto Europeo de los Derechos de la Persona con Pluridiscapacidad y de sus Familias” and a publication translated into 5 languages: “La Persona con Pluridiscapacidad: Necesidad e Intervención”. This book is the fruit of 25 years of experience accompanying families of children with severe disabilities.
