Diary of a student. Paris 1914
Under the pseudonym Gaziel, we meet journalist Agustí Calvet (Sant Feliu de Guíxols, 1887 - Barcelona, 1964). While studying philosophy in Paris in 1914, the start of the First World War changes his life: he bursts onto the pages of the newspaper La Vanguardia of Barcelona, with thought-provoking reports written from his perspective as a young man living in Paris thrown suddenly into war, and which dazzled readers all over Spain. His articles demonstrate right from the start a great capacity for observation, which rises above the stream of events. Living through war allowed him to refine his knowledge of the human soul and, in a paradox of fate he himself acknowledged, led him to discover his ability to capture readers' hearts. After the success of 'Diary of a student,' he worked as a war correspondent until 1918.
