José Luis Correa

José Luis Correa (Las Palmas, 1962) is professor of Language and Literature Teaching at the university of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. After a brief period as a short story writer, when he won various prizes such as the Julio Cor­tázar prize (La Laguna, 1998) and the Campus prize (Las Palmas de Gran Cana­ria, 1999), he decided to focus for good on the novel with titles such as 'Me mataron tan mal' (Benito Pérez Armas prize, 2000) and 'Échale un ojo a Carla' (Vargas Llosa prize, 2002). His novel 'Quince días de noviembre' (2003) was his first forary into noir and is the first title in the Ricardo Blanco series, which continued with 'Muerte en abril' (2004), 'Muerte de un violinista' (2006) and 'Un rastro de sirena' (2009), all published by Alba.
