This book aims to offer the reader - whether specialist or the uninitiated - the most exhaustive possible collection of the letters written by Miguel de Unamuno during his exile from February 1924 to his triumphant return to Spain six years later. By means of some three hundred missives - amongst which are included those, hitherto unpublished, addressed to his wife Concepción Lizárraga, - we penetrate the private and public life of an exile who was a relentless critic of a whole political class at a crucial moment in the history of his country.
