Elephant with a Bird’s Heart
Emilio Urberuaga was born in Madrid in 1954, and worked as a printer and engraver before dedicating himself to the illustration of children’s books. His work, full of fantasy and humour, is recognised nationally and internationally in the world of illustration. With Anaya he has published, among others, “Marina” and “Feather and Cork”, for which he also wrote the text, and various titles written by Daniel Nesquens, one of which, “The Man With Messy Hair”, won the VII Anaya Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature. In 2011 he won the National Prize for Illustration for the whole of his oeuvre.
