The Instituto Cervantes, the official Spanish Government Cultural Centre, is a public institution founded in 1991 to promote Spanish language teaching and knowledge of the cultures of Spanish speaking counties throughout the world. It is the largest worldwide Spanish teaching organization, and has 40 branches in four continents.
At the London branch, there is an extensive programme of cultural events, from exhibitions to book launches of Spanish and Latin American authors.
International Book Fair which is held in Madrid and Barcelona (Spain) in alternate years and has established itself as the foremost trade and promotional showcase for Spanish and Latin American literature.
This web site presents regular reviews of new titles in German particularly recommended for translation into English. Titles are chosen by an independent committee made up of British literary experts and representatives of the book trade.
